Project Runway: Ep 2 & 3

I am so sorry that my posts about Runway are so delayed. Episode 2 came at a bad time since it was Thanksgiving week for me - and episode 3 was so bad I almost didn't want to relive it here. Blech. Highlight of the season so far: Sarah Jessica Parker! Lowlight: Menswear. Blech.

I totally loved the second episode. It was brilliant to have the designers create a look with only $15 and I loved most of the designs. Victorya's dress and vest combo was my favorite so I'm glad it won. It matches my personal aesthetic and that of SJP's very well I think. I really hated the cape and dress from Elisa - I don't know what the judges saw in it, but I'm glad it didn't win. I hate teal jersey knit!!! Christian disappointed me with his 80's bananarama look, but I still love him.

Episode 3...I mean, what can I say? No one knew how to make menswear. Jack won but his look was something you could buy in any Express or H&M across the country. I think Kit was the only one who had put some imagination into it with the fleece jacket that did end up looking chic. I think Kit is one to watch - she's flying under the radar which is what all the good ones do.

Recap Time! Episode 1.

Well, well, well. It seems I jinxed poor Simone for calling her out as an early favorite - since she was the first to go! Sorry about that girl! That's the last time I open my big mouth. Overall I was underwhelmed. There should have been a ton more WOW outfits since they were given all those great fabrics to work with. I loved Victoria's black dress with the silver brocade flower - and though Christian annoys the crap outta me - his plaid jacket was siiiiick. And how great does Heidi look? Such a stunna. Can't wait for next week's ep!

It's Sew Time.

Tonight is the night I've been waiting for - Project Runway starts up a new season! I'll be doing recaps after every episode and I expect lots of comments. (You're all a little comment shy - I'm not sure why but let's put a stop to it). Early favorites from simply perusing the website? Simone because she uses organic materials and Carmen because her look is KILLIN' me. Why can't I have hair like that? So check back tomorrow for my comments on the premiere episode.
