Well, my mattress purchase was a success. I ended up getting a Kingsdown pillowtop - so heavenly. Some of you emailed me with confusion about my new apartment and stuff, and without giving out too much detail about my personal life - I moved out of my apartment in Astoria a couple months ago and am moving into a great new place in Manhattan. I am very excited about this new chapter in my life - and I've got a new mattress to prove it! I'll post pics of my teeny bedroom as soon as it's remotely decorated. Thanks for all the well wishes and good advice. (I also have to thank my brother for helping me move in this past weekend - he's the best).
I am definitely buying this petal rug for my new bedroom. It's the perfect geometric yellow that I've been searching for - yay West Elm! You always come through!
Big shout-out to Domino for featuring the lovely Drew Barrymore's office in the April issue. Her company, Flower Films, looks like such a fun place to work. The office kitchen and bathroom is nicer than most people's homes!
I so badly want to design my next apartment after the minimalist home of architect Elena Coleman. The windows in her home are freakin' fantastic. (via design*sponge)
Since I've posted about my dream lamp - I thought I'd continue to theme of "favorites" and feature my dream couch. If I could spend an unlimited amount of money on any one item, it would be a couch. Sickening? Maybe. But I don't care. Though I'm a big fan of bold prints on couches, I'd really like a sleek, white couch with black laquer legs. Hickory Chair has the Bertrand sofa - which is one of my favorites. (Also, how great is the name Bertrand? So French and philosophical sounding). Plus, I like that you can customize your own and get exactly what you want.
Victoria has a great house feature on her blog today from artist Lisa Congdon. When I spotted this photo - I nearly collapsed with envy at this great print. I found it online but alas, it is sold out. Anyone know where I can buy one in the U.S?!
Betsey Johnson is selling her Manhattan apartment! God I wish I had $3.6 million laying around. Her apartment's aesthetic is really just like her clothes: bubble gum gooeyness.
I wonder if they'd let me just rent out the bathroom...
