Fiesta.

Yea it's Derby weekend - but I also have a pretty awesome Cinco de Mayo party to attend. Ole! Speaking of Ole - check out this hat. I wish I had seen it sooner! I may also need to pick up some maracas. Rumor has it that the party will have a guacamole bar, lots of tequila and a mariachi band. I'm just sayin.... I know the right people. But more importantly - here the recipe for a skinny girl margarita....

Patron Silver
Cointreau
4 Limes

Fill a glass with ice.
Pour in some patron silver.
Squeeze four fresh limes into the mix.
Add a splash of cointreau and drink.

Derby.

This weekend is the Kentucky Derby. Not only do I plan on making a bet (I tend to get lucky), but I am also going to wear a big floppy hat. I wish people still sent invitations in the mail instead of on facebook for these sorts of events - because these invites are perfect. Bet against Big Brown - his odds of winning are 3-1 but it ain't gonna happen!

Easter.

Hope all those who celebrate Easter have a lovely weekend with family, eggs and the easter bunny - let's hope spring weather finally hits! (Eggs by Marty)

Fakey French.

Yay for gifts. So by now everyone who reads this blog knows that I have a slight obsession with pretending to be French and/or trying to live my life like a Frenchy. So it makes sense that I got this ADORABLE necklace from Porkchop from Valentine's day.

This ring is also cute, french, and gold - three must have's in my jewelry box.

I had a very nice Valentine surprise last night - Porkchop took me to get a massage at a spa. It was sooo necessary and lovely. Tonight we're just ordering a heart-shaped pizza and watching TV. Hope you all celebrate with your loved ones. For a history lesson (yawn) about today click here.

Party For Two.

I've always wanted to throw a big V-day bash since there are so many people in my life that I love, but year after year, it's always just me and Porkchop! But that's not such a bad thing! Perhaps I should throw us a party anyways with this cute party for two set - though I can't see either of us wearing those hats.

In honor of Valentine's day - cute heart sachets new at Hable Construction. Perfect to keep in your drawers. I am going to CT for some major Target shopping and Watty time this weekend. Wahooo! Until next week!

I wanted to end the new year with some reflections on 2007, aspirations for 2008, etc... but that gets boring fast so instead, here's some instructions on how to open a bottle of bubbly. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'll be leaving for the Poconos in the morning, so I'll see ya in 08!

Adios holidays - hello new year! I can't believe it's all over. I have to say that I feel completely blessed to have gotten nearly everything off my Christmas list - how crazy is that?! Porkchop got me the sony cybershot and I am in loooooove. It's the best little camera ever. The pics below are courtesy of my new toy.

And not to play favorites or anything - but here are some highlights of gifts that I received.

New red slippers! I wear slippers from the second I walk into my apartment until the moment I leave to go back into the world!

And since I'm a huge bag lady - this clutch was made especially for me from the amazing Amanda... from a fat quarter no less!

And my Dad found me this great vintage Dooney & Bourke off ebay. It's very chic (and green) to buy vintage.

And I also received THIS - which I can't wait to hang above my couch!
